i said you can lie to me/i own what's inside of me/and nothing surprises me anymore
Saw a good movie today- one that surprised me. A LOVE SONG FOR BOBBY LONG- I got it because I'm sort of madly enamored with Gabriel Macht. Some people just burn with sexy charisma... Gabriel Macht is one of them. However, some people give me the creeps & John Travolta is one of them. Plus, lately I've been a little bugged by Scarlett Johanssen. I really wasn't expecting much out of this movie. I was wrong, go figure. The only thing that bugged me is that I'm not quite sure how Scarlett got the Golden Globe nomination- she was fine, don't get me wrong, but there were better performances. I DO think she's a very talented actor- LOST IN TRANSLATION... GIRL WITH A PEARL EARRING... good stuff. But she didn't knock me out with her work in this one. Unlike a certain creepy Scientologist, who shocked me by kicking some serious ass. This definitely goes in the PRIMARY COLORS/PULP FICTION column as a good Travolta performance. Also, my lovely Gabriel was wonderful and I hope it serves as a springboard towards him getting more work. Did I mention that he smolders? He smolders to the MAX. He & Travolta would be the recipients of the best movie duo award at the MTV Movie Awards if it were up to me, but I'm sure that'll go to Johnny Knoxville & Seann William Scott or some shit (both Saucy, though). Anyway, BOBBY LONG? Definitely rentworthy, so everybody put it on your Netflix list, 'k?
ALIAS was retarded tonight. I'm worried that JJ Abrams is sunning on Hawaii doing LOST and was like "Yeah? Oh, ALIAS? What's that? You want to have them completely recreate Sydney's childhood home because Jack's been hallucinating that Michael McKean is his doctor for the last three weeks? Yeah, that sounds fine, good luck with that..." Okay, I admit that there have been a fair share of unlikely situations on ALIAS in the past. The whole Ricky Gervais episode? They built a hotel room and stuff... but something about this season seems.... lacking. I miss the mythology. I hate that they spent the first 3/4s of the season doing self-contained episodes to lure in short-attention-spanned viewers... It's gotten more ALIASy lately, but still it's lacking something. I have the feeling it's going to be the last season, which is kinda disappointing, but possibly (i grudgingly admit) for the best.
Finally- SHOWDOG MOMS & DADS. I have to stop watching this shit. Does it make me a self-hating homosexual if I was secretly hoping that a semi would collide into the car that the boys were driving in tonight and crying about not being good enough on the circuit? My brother's theory is that poor little Liberace was trying to end it all when he broke his leg. I think it's the truth. And surprise, surprise- the ridiculous, obnoxious woman- Lourdes? From Miami. I recommend that all non-Miamians pay attention- because you know how Miami is always portrayed on film? Lourdes is actually closer to the citizens of this city than anything you've seen before. Beware!
Ok, I guess that's enough hatin' on people for the day. I spent a good 45 minutes looking for new Matt Keeslar stuff online, only to find nothing except for the tidbit that he and I graduated from high school the same year. How novel, a crush on someone my own age. According to some "Are you compatible with this celebrity?" site I went to, Keeslar and I are VERY compatible. (Emotionally & Intellectually, that is- Physically we're at 33% bastard Biorhythm bullshit!! I expect that to change as I lose weight- have I mentioned that this week I discovered that I now weigh less than 200 lbs for the first time in a few years?? Woohoo!!)
ok ya'll... drop me a line you dirty little voyeurs! my mailbox has been a barren wasteland this week, with the exception of mailing list stuff! I need more! I can't buy dvds while I'm saving up for the move, so it falls upon YOUR shoulders to entertain me. So dance, you bastards, DANCE!!

I'm dancing as fast as I can!
Also, a power outage in downtown Redding has made the morning in my office just fly by. Lots of sitting around staring out the window and hanging out.
There, I've done my part. I've posted my comment.
