i thought it came from God
So for those of us who aren't exactly lining up to see Star Wars this weekend (it's ok. i know some of you will be. i even know some of you will be wearing your read/black Darth Maul makeup. that's alright, too. because it makes me think of the guy who does Darth Maul's voice & how he was in SHAUN OF THE DEAD and yes, SPACED. Oh SPACED, how do I love thee? Let me count the many ways. One one thousand! Two one thousand! Three one thousand!...) I have a movie to suggest- you MUST see MILLIONS. Ok I'm late (especially if you're reading this in England. Bugger off, you get all the good stuff first!) but after trying for three consecutive Thursdays to see the movie (week 1: Foiled by Lily's computer crash! week 2: Foiled by Lily's dad hijacking her car!) I finally got to see it tonight. I figured I'd like it, what with being a fan of Danny Boyle's films & all... I never anticipated loving it as much as I did, though. Is it because it's so rare to see a film about someone who wants so badly to do something good? It's sweet, but never syrupy. I like that. It stars kids that you can't help but like, even if you're a bastard like me who doesn't really like kids. It is in fact, pretty magical. (And having said all that, I'd like to mention that the actor who plays the dad is droolworthy) If it's still out near you, here's the thing... Star Wars? gonna be open for a while. Check out MILLIONS to see how movies can be amazing & incredible without action sequences, spaceships, wookies or robots.
Except, of course, for "Bin".

See, just when we thought that the whole world was against us, Silent Rick, we are given Millions, which was truly straight from the Man himself.
I watched the Cannes closing night ceremonies this weekend and envied the French. For the last time I tell you!
I hope that your weekend proved to be less lazy. Can't wait to see Spaced. I'm shooting for Monday.
